Review title of WesleyFrom Apple to Windows, and not looking back

Five years ago I had a PC and said I would NEVER get an apple device. Then my PC broke and I had a good reason to try out a Macbook Pro. What a beautiful computer! Fast, sleek, and powerful everything I needed. Then just three weeks ago I decided it was time to upgrade and I awaited the good news from Apple about their new Macbooks. But the news never came, and the reviews on their current Mac's were mixed (the keyboard issue made me nervous). So I thought maybe it was time to experiment with Microsoft. The Surface Pro was a unique design, also sleek and had some attractive hardware so I went with the Pro 7 i5. I gave it a run for its money for two weeks doing all of my typical task at work (word, excel, powerpoint) as well as some of my hobbies (adobe photoshop and premiere pro). The Pro 7 handled them all like a beast. I ended up returning the i5 and getting the i7 because I liked the Pro 7 so much that I wanted to ensure I got a good 3+ yrs out of it. Haven't looked back yet.

Review title of DonFantastic Surface Pro -- BEST EVER!

I took a leap from my SP5 (i5 CPU/8GB RAM) to this model. At the time, I wanted fanless cooling due to my lack of confidence in another moving part's reliability. However, this time I decided to get SP 7 (i7 CPU/16GB RAM) and give it a try, despite the fact it has a fan for cooling. To my delight the fan is quiet and rarely audible, except when you're doing more demanding processing. Even then, it is pleasantly subdued. The facial recognition is super fast over my SP5 speaking to the incredible upgrade in processing power that I now have over my SP5. It was a decent Surface in it's own right, but now all I can say is, "WOW!" My SP7 is an absolute powerhouse in a small package! Not only that, but aesthetically speaking, I love the new Matte Black color. It's nice to have another color option. I prefer it over the Platinum color scheme. Microsoft did a great job with this device, both outside and under the hood. I feel like I scored big on value with this model!

Review title of Jeffrey_NWWorth the upgrade?

Absolutely! It is the small things that makes this SP7 a significant improvement. I even wonder why reviewers completely miss the detail that make the Surface Pro (SP) standout amongst its predecessors. Maybe most aren’t putting the device through real work. For those of you that use a SP, whether you are a student or professional needing the power of a PC in the form of a tablet, you already know the benefits that a SP offers. But why upgrade? Reason 1, it is faster. It is such a pleasure scrolling my OneNote notes and experiencing a noticeable improvement with the refresh lag. While I have read reviews that argue these benefits come with the cost of reduced battery life, I point out reason 2 – USB C. I can now charge my SP7 using my USB C external batteries. Reason 3, Identical form factor. We should applaud Microsoft for not changing the SP7’s form so that consumers can save money reusing accessories like the pen, keyboard, power charger, the many cases I already own.

Review title of ChrisFast with USB-C that drives dual 4k Monitors @ 60Hz

Received my i5, 8G, 128G Surface Pro 7 on October 22nd as promised. So far, it works just like my older Surface devices, but faster. I plan to use the USB-C port and appropriate hub to drive a pair of UHD (4k) monitors at 60 Hz. I'll update this review after I give this a go.

Review title of MaznaSo bad, I could go on and on

The battery life sucks on this device. The keyboard and the mouse touch pad is also problematic. It also takes WAY too long rebooting. If it accidentally closes for just one second, you have to go through the rebooting process AGAIN. In general, wouldn't use or buy again.

Review title of Georg4h battery and bugs, bugs, bugs

I was looking forward to this product, but boy I got disappointed. Granted, you can do a lot with it. I liked that the Surface Pro is a desktop replacement, where I could program, read, learn and watch stuff. However, the four weeks I had it I also saw the many downsides in the form of bugs and very low battery life. For instance, my Surface Pro would often randomly jump out of my program back to the desktop for no reason. Another example is that for a few days I was unable to change the brightness. Installing Intel drivers, etc. wouldn't help. At least finally a Windows update fixed that. The deal breaker for me, however, was the battery life. My usual use case was watching lectures and writing notes in split screen. At lowest battery usage setting and half brightness my Surface Pro lasted for ca 4h, miles off the claimed 10.5 hours. I tried different potential fixes like fully unloading/loading, but to no avail. Just sad for such an expensive device.

Review title of BrianFaulty device and bad customer service

I was excited to receive the Surface only to be highly disappointed. There will be times the keyboard doesn't work, the bluetooth fails, the WiFi fails despite my Apple iPhone 7, iPad(6th Gen), and friends 2014 Macbook being able to connect. Furthermore, the face ID would periodically fail to work and the brightness would fail to be manually adjusted on the keyboard or through settings. Microsoft technical support helped efficiently to troubleshoot my problems but despite them connecting to my device to troubleshoot it still did not fix the issues. So I tried to contact customer service to get my screen protector replaced along with my surface pro 7 but they refused to replace my screen protector. It is Microsoft's fault for sending me a faulty device and now they are refusing to send me a new screen protector and are expecting me to spend buy a new screen protector for my replacement device. It's absurd and it's pushing me to switch over and trust Apple Macbooks reliability instead.

Review title of BobGreat product..USB-C port bad location.

Pre-order the Surface 7 (i7,16gb Ram, 256gb HD) and received as estimated on 10/22/2019. Love the size, portability and the overall system speed. Surface boots up rapidly and applications running much smoother and faster as well. Only issue I am having so far...Purposely waited for the Surface 7 because of USB-C port..which is really nice to have. My problem is the location of the port. Most of the hun have a short cord as they are mainly designed for laptops with port on a flat surface. If you have keyboard on Surface Pro, the port is at the top and the USB-C hub "hangs" there as cord too short. I did order an extension, but when I use that, I lose functionality of the port. For example, only HDMI port works. But when I plug hub directly in port, I can use my HDMI, and USB ports accordingly.
