Michael Sexton

Michael Sexton is an alumnus and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Management. He worked in industry for 23 years before joining UNT in 1999. He has taught 10,760+ students enrolled in eleven different courses. Mr. Sexton designs on-line (web- based) content and pioneered multiple locations video conferencing technology. He regularly introduces innovative teaching techniques in the classroom. 

Mr. Sexton co-mentored twelve (12) new UNT faculty member from 2015-2019 (Provost Office). He has mentored 100’s of undergraduate students, supervised 15 doctoral students and new MGMT faculty. Mr. Sexton has conducted 12 study abroad programs for 250 students. The next program is headed to Spain during June-July 2019.

Mr. Sexton has been nominated for several teaching and service awards. In addition, He has been recognized as Teacher of the Year in Management (2016), Educator of the Year in Management (2010), University Citation of Distinguished Service to International Education (2010), and University Outstanding Online Teacher / Course of the Year (2006). 

Mr. Sexton’s service to the university includes closing the Classic of Denton commitment of $80k to COB in 2018. He is a Faculty Senator and Chairs the Management Study Abroad Programs and the Scholarships
