Faculty Development

Fd 768x402

In collaboration with the Center for Innovative Learning, the Department of Interprofessional Education and Practice provides faculty development in interprofessional education. The program is a blended-learning course, where faculty complete online modules tied to in-person sessions. Each session addresses the IPEC Core Competencies of Values and Ethics for Interpofessional Practice, Roles and Responsibilities, Interprofessional Communication, and Teams and Teamwork, as well as fundamentals of instructional design and facilitation skills for interprofessional education. The faculty development program runs over the course of an academic semester, with classes occurring one to two times per month.

The program awards two levels of certificate. The first level is a certificate of recognition, which is awarded to faculty who complete all online and in-person components of the course. The next level is a certificate of distinction, which is awarded to faculty who design, facilitate, and present on or publish the outcomes of their interprofessional work at a national level.
