About this Event

Food Chains reveals the human cost in our food supply and the complicity of large buyers of produce. Supermarkets have a tremendous amount of power over the US agricultural system. Over the past 30 years, they’ve drained revenue from their supply chain, leaving farmworkers in poverty and forced to work under subhuman conditions.

Yet many take no responsibility for this. The narrative of the film focuses on an intrepid and highly lauded group of tomato pickers who are revolutionizing farm labor. Their story is one of hope and promise, aiming to ensure a dignified life for farm workers and a more humane food chain.

The Doc Spot Film Series is presented by the UNT Media Library. All film screenings this semester will be held during the noon hour in the Willis Library Forum. Please feel free to bring your own lunch. Select events will be accompanied by a guest lecturer.
