The department’s early beginnings in technology education can be traced back to the turn of the 20th century in programs leading to degrees in Industrial Arts through the 1970’s.
The decade of the 1980’s marked the start of new B.S. and M.S. degrees in Industrial Technology Education and a new B.S. in Industrial Technology degree with concentrations in Construction, in Electronics, in Industrial Graphics, in Manufacturing, and in Nuclear Technology.
Since the early 1990’s, the Department of Engineering Technology (ETEC) at the University of North Texas continues to prepare productive citizens, leaders, and technology innovators in a global society.
