Eligibility and Membership Requirements

First-semester students admitted for Fall 2020 and receiving the following UNT Scholarships are offered automatic admission to the Honors College and do not need to submit an application.

  • UNT Meritorious Scholarship for National Merit Finalists
  • UNT Excellence Scholarship—President’s Scholarship and Dean’s Scholarship Award Levels

Other interested students should complete the online application.

Freshman Applicants are required to submit (1) SAT or ACT scores, (2) a high school transcript that includes GPA and class rank, and (3) a short essay. We consider the student’s academic record in light of the types of courses taken and the nature of their high school curriculum.

Transfer Students and Currently Enrolled UNT Students submit transcripts for completed college work. In general, students with more than 72 hours completed and in-progress are not considered for admission to the Honors College.
