Strategic Planning Feedback

UNT is in the midst of a yearlong strategic planning process and is seeking feedback from the UNT community about the university's defining characteristics, mission, vision and purpose.

Feedback gathered during the spring semester will be used to inform the strategic plan, which is slated for summer review by UNT leadership prior to submission to the Board of Regents in November 2019.


UNT's strategic plan will focus on creating a culture of collaboration that will enhance the three strategic priority areas identified: 

  1. Student empowerment and transformation
  2. People and processes
  3. Scholarship and innovation
(Examples include: community/corporate partnerships, IT, philanthropy, first-year experience, UNT System and cross-campus collaboration, facilities, interdisciplinary scholarship, seamless pathways, career development, collaboration space, athletics facility growth and disseminating reputational successes.)
(Examples include: financial aid, online, curricula, experiential learning, lifelong learning, scholarly experiences, mental health, financial literacy, a sense of belonging, supporting working students, quality of instruction, and development of curiosity, critical thinking, team building and cultural experiences.)
(Examples include: retention and graduation, enrollment, reputation, faculty development, increasing diversity, becoming a best place to work, succession planning, staff development, decreasing barriers to co-teaching, faculty/staff workload, and improving mentoring and evaluation to encourage promotion pathways for faculty.)
(Examples include: increasing research expenditures, NRUF status, increasing allocations and funding, a culture of scholarship, expanding undergraduate scholarship, growing doctoral creative and scholarship productivity, decreased grant processing time and improved infrastructure to increase sponsored project and scholarship funding, facilities and high quality faculty.)
