Welcome to Student Employment!

The University of North Texas currently employs over 5,000 students through a combination of Regular Hourly jobs, Work Study positions, and Eagle Internships. Working at UNT is ideal for students due to convenient location, flexible scheduling, social networking, and the opportunity to develop relevant, transferrable skills.

Types of Student Employment

Hourly Student Employment

• All UNT students are eligible for Hourly Student Employment jobs.
• 100% of the paycheck is funded by the hiring department.
• Students are allowed to work up to 25 hours a week.
• Minimum pay is $7.25, but positions may start at a higher rate.

Work Study Positions

• Open to UNT students who have received and accepted Federal Work Study in their University of North Texas Financial Aid Package.
• 70% of the paycheck is funded by the hiring department, and 30% is funded by the federal government.
• Students are allowed to work up to 20 hours a week.
• Minimum pay is $7.25, but positions may start at a higher rate.

Eagle Internships

• Open to all UNT students.
• Paid On-Campus Internship in a department related to the student’s major (eligible for Work Study).
• Minimum of 10 weeks.
• Typically, one semester but potential to extend for an additional semester.
• Only 30 positions on campus.
• Students receive 30 hours of Professional and Personal Growth Programming.
• Students may also use this program for academic credit (subject to requirements of major/college).
