All program staff who have contact with minors are required to successfully complete a sexual abuse and child molestation awareness training and exam approved by the Texas Department of State Health Services every two years.

Teachers and others who routinely work with minors are not exempt from this requirement.  If an approved training and examination have been completed within the last two years, a copy of the certificate of completion must be submitted to YouthProtection@unt.edu .  Otherwise, that individual must retake the training course.

Online Training

The University of North Texas has selected Praesidium as the vendor to conduct the required sexual abuse and child molestation awareness training and exam. The training consists of four online modules followed by a quiz. 

The cost is currently $6 per training taken and payments can be made by inter-departmental transfer, IDT. Please note that charges are subject to change.

In-Person Training

Another option is an in-person training given by the Youth Protection Program for university purposes only. Please email your request to YouthProtection@unt.edu for training arragements.
