There is a breadth of information and best practices guidelines on ways to use discussion forums in online learning environments. Online discussion is an important area of research in both the scholarship of teaching and learning and educational technology. The awards were created to recognize the North Texas technology elite and are given annually by Tech Titans, a technology trade association. The UNT lab was nominated for the Tech Titans of the Future – University Level Award, which spotlights educational institutions that encourage and support students in choosing engineering- and technology-related disciplines as a preferred academic and career path.

University of North Texas expands access to online learning
UNT soon will offer non-credit, online courses in a variety of subjects through Coursera
DENTON (UNT), Texas —  The University of North Texas soon will offer non-credit, online courses in a variety of subjects through Coursera, giving more learners access to world-class educational content created and taught by UNT faculty. The university recently inked a deal with the popular online education company, joining an elite group of higher education institutions such as University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of Michigan, Johns Hopkins University and more.
