MEd in Counseling (48 hr-School Counseling)

Counseling, MEd (48-hour degree with the concentration in either Elementary School Counseling or Secondary School Counseling)

The Counseling Program offers a Master of Education in Counseling with a concentration in either Elementary School Counseling or Secondary School Counseling. The Master’s degree requires an internship in lieu of a thesis. The internship should be the last enrollment in the Master’s program. The University of North Texas at Dallas is an approved school counseling certification program of the Texas Education Agency.  For details on requirements to become a Certified School Counselor in Texas, visit the Texas Education Agency website. In addition to completing the coursework, candidates must also have 2 years creditable teaching experience prior to internship and pass the TExES - Counselor examination to be eligible for School Counselor Certification in Texas.
