Monthly Treasury Statement

The Monthly Treasury Statement summarizes the financial activities of the federal government and off-budget federal entities and conforms to the Budget of the U.S. Government.

CARS 3.0 Release Announcements

The Central Accounting Reporting System (CARS) will undergo an application upgrade beginning on December 11, 2020. The CARS application will be taken offline during this upgrade, which will have a direct impact on your agency’s ability to perform business functions within CARS.

To minimize the impact on the agency community, the CARS system will be unavailable for users starting Friday, December 11, 2020, at 2:00 PM EST through Monday, December 14, 2020, at 8:00 AM EST.

The MTS presents a summary of:

  • Receipts and outlays
  • Surplus or deficit
  • Means of financing on a modified cash basis

The data in the MTS is provided by federal entities, disbursing officers, and Federal Reserve Banks.
