The Institute of Petroleum Accounting (IPA) at the University of North Texas (nonprofit entity) was formed in 1980 with endowments from a number of oil and gas companies.
IPA’s mission/objectives are to support the oil and gas industry through research, education, and publications. Over the years, IPA has sponsored and been involved in numerous activities related to the upstream oil and gas industry.
IPA is facilitating the on-line oil and gas accounting forum for real time discussions of accounting issues facing the oil and gas financial professional as well as other interested parties. Subscribers may use the forum to post a question or concern regarding an oil and gas accounting issue or problem. IPA will maintain and moderate the site.
We encourage peer-to-peer collaborations and discussions, and have preset several categories of interest to start conversations and postings. We hope the forum will benefit and inform those in the industry.
