Audition – Late: A Cowboy Song

Denton Community Theatre is holding auditions for Late: A Cowboys Song, written by Sarah Ruhl. Directed by Kerri Peters, auditions will be held on June 9, 10 at 7:00pm at the Campus Theatre located at 214 W. Hickory in Denton. This is a play that explores what is outside the box of convention for loving yourself, loving someone else, and loving life.
Auditions are open – no appointments. Resumes and headshots are appreciated, but not required. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.
Roles Are:
Mary – perpetually late, and keeps her journal locked
Crick – charming, fragile, and child-like
Red – no cowgirl, she’s a cowboy
Mary and Crick should play in their early to late twenties, Red should be older.
Red should sing, and might play guitar, or mandolin, or something else.
Those interested in reading for Red should be prepared to sing and play their instrument (not having an instrument is not a deal breaker).
Performances are August 2,3,4, 2019 at 7:30pm and June 9, 16, 2019 at 2:00pm at the Black Box Theatre located at 318 E. Hickory in Denton.
