How can I get help from a librarian assigned to my class or dept?

Librarians assigned to a particular class or department are called library liaisons. Look at this list of departments and find the librarian assigned to the dept offering your course (ENGL = English, BIOL = Biology) or to your major. You can contact the library liaison by phone or email and make an appointment for individual assistance. Don't be shy - librarians love to meet with students, faculty and staff and help them with their research and library questions.

How can I get a book/article the Libraries don't have?

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is the service that provides free delivery of books, articles, dissertation/theses which the UNT Libraries don't have. You must establish an ILLiad account before making your first ILL request. It takes 5 minutes or less to complete the ILLiad registration and enter your request.

Delivery of books generally takes 1 to 2 weeks; dissertations/theses can take up to 6 weeks. Articles are sent in electronic form to your ILLiad account and arrive in approximately 3-4 days.

For detailed information about this service, please visit Interlibrary Loan Borrowing. You can directly contact ILL with your specific questions.

How do I renew a book?

You can renew a book at one of the Libraries' service desks with your current ID card. Or you can renew online by logging into your library catalog account. Please note that music and media items must be renewed in-person at the Music Library and Media Library respectively.

For detailed information about this service, please visit Renew Your Materials.

Public Use Printing is available for UNT staff and faculty, and community members, through Public Use Computers in the Willis and Eagle Commons Libraries at 10 cents per page.
