Getting Started

Increasing your scholarly impact is an iterative process that starts Scholarly Impact Cyclewith building your scholarly identity. The tabs on the left are designed to walk you through the process step-by-step for a self-service experience. You'll find tutorials, templates, and more to help you build the story about your scholarship at the University of North Texas.

The Libraries' Scholarly Impact Service (SIS) team is here to consult with you on any step of this self-service guide.  Below is a consultation checklist that can help you get started. Please look it over, answer some of the questions to narrow down the topics you might want to discuss, and then contact the team.

SIS - What We Do

The Scholarly Impact Service (SIS) helps faculty build scholarly identities and determine their scholarly impact. We also recommend discipline-specific ways for faculty to increase scholarly impact. Wondering if we can help you? Here's a small selection of the questions we can answer:

  • How do I create an ORCID account or a Google Scholar profile?
  • Where can I find metrics for my articles and books?
  • How can I find reviews of my scholarship?
  • What are the options for publishing my article or book?
  • Why should I deposit my scholarship in the UNT institutional repository?
  • Which social media should I use to increase the visibility of my scholarship?
