The FabLab represented the College of Visual Arts & Design at the 2nd Annual Frisco Arts Walk on Saturday, October 7th, 2017. The free event, held at Hall Park in Frisco, was family-friendly and open to the public.

With the Frisco Art Walk's mission to present various art forms to the community, the CVAD FabLab's participation at the event further illustrated the diversity and collaborative practices found in visual arts and design studies at the University of North Texas. Students from every program at UNT CVAD are able to utilize the computer-driven machines in the FabLab to incorporate technology into many facets of their artwork.

The CVAD FabLab booth displayed a leading example of this utilization by demonstrating and discussing many of the processes that take place in the lab. There was a Printrbot 3D printer on location with samples of various 3D printed objects for visitors to inspect. Sample work created on the FabLab's laser cutters and CNC routers were also on display.

Additionally, visitors to the CVAD FabLab booth were provided with an opportunity to learn more about fabrication labs by using iPads to view an informational video. That video can be seen below:
