Research Overview

Faculty and student researchers in the Department of Engineering Technology use known or emerging technologies and apply advanced science, engineering and mathematics to solve today's toughest industrial problems. Opportunities abound for Engineering Technology students to engage in deploying solutions to a variety of industry-led problems, conduct field work or assist faculty in research projects funded by industry, state or federal sources.


Graduate students engage in a variety of applied engineering research problems to complete a Project or a Thesis.

Research Facility and Labs

The Department of Engineering Technology is located at Discovery Park, a world-class research and learning facility located about 4 miles north of the main UNT campus.

Engineering Manufacturing Facility

The Engineering Manufacturing Facility (EMF) provides fabrication, laser engraving, machining and 3D printing services to faculty and students for their research projects, senior design projects.
