Referendum Question: “Do you authorize the University of North Texas to change the allocation of fees for the Student Body by increasing the Intercollegiate Athletics Fee by $6.25 per credit hour, in conjunction with decreasing the Student Service Fee by $2.00 per credit hour, to result in a net increase of $4.25 per credit ...hour?”
In addition to the Athletics Fee, Athletics currently receives $2.13 per credit hour of the Student Service Fee (SSF). If this referendum passes, all student fees that Athletics currently receives will be consolidated into the Athletics Fee. There would be no reduction in the SSF; with a $2 move of funds from the SSF to Athletics Fee, an extra $0.13 per credit hour of the SSF would become available to allocate to student services, programs, and events.

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) is the State agency that oversees all public post-secondary education. It promotes access, affordability, quality, success, and cost efficiency in the state’s institutions of higher education. The Governor appoints a non-voting student member to represent student interests on the Board. If you’re interested in serving as that student rep for 2018-2019, see http://studentaffairs.unt.edu/…/…/services/thecb-application. Applications are due Dec. 11.
