Airports & Getting to Denton
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW)
Situated in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex, DFW airport is the largest airport in the north Texas area, hosting most major airlines, and has been recently named Air Transport World’s 2019 Airport of the Year. This is the closest major airport to Denton and should be your choice unless you are flying Southwest Airlines.

Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL)
Situated in the heart of Dallas, Dallas Love Field is an efficient, user-friendly airport, and is the exclusive hub of Southwest Airlines in the area.

Rideshare services
Both airports are supported by Lyft and Uber rideshare services.

Public Transportation
Public transportation is available from DFW airport using DART and DCTA, but we DO NOT recommend symposium attendees select this option, unfortunately. You may ride both DART and DCTA with a Regional Pass purchased at DFW airport. Please be advised that DCTA from Dallas to Denton does not run on Sundays. Public transport may include longer travel times than alternative means, so we advise that you check Google Maps for the most up-to-date travel information.

Hotels

The conference hosts have secured special rates for our guests and recommend the following hotels. Because the symposium location is not within walking distance from any hotels (especially in Texas summer heat), public transportation is spotty at best, and we will be providing shuttle service between these hotels and the symposium/downtown, we HIGHLY suggest that you book with one of these two hotels, rather than seeking alternative hotels or an AirBnB.

About Denton, Texas
From DiscoverDenton.com:

Denton is filled to the brim with unique art, fine dining and eclectic shopping. Whether it is the international feel of the university communities with a combined student population of 50,000 and a world-renowned jazz band or the serene beauty of some of America's finest horse country, Denton is truly a city without limits. It's family, friends, festivals and fun. It's downright delicious food and fanfare. It's music, museums, magic, and happy memories. It's history. And it's history in the making.

Situated north of Dallas and Fort Worth, Denton is the county seat of Denton County. From the century-old courthouse and vibrant town-square to the world-class Texas Motor Speedway, Denton offers a setting where these diverse worlds meet.

Well known for the academic excellence of both the University of North Texas and Texas Woman's University, Denton is a place where the music of multitudes can come together. Denton is large enough to host international conferences, seminars and athletic competitions. But true to its "Main Street America" roots, Denton is also small enough for a weekend retreat, a family reunion, or a beautiful wedding uniquely designed to individual couples.

A Texas Historical Commission Main Street City, Denton boasts more than 140 renovated structures in downtown, where the heart of the city beats to the rhythm of rich regional history merging with modern sophistication. The historic town-square is the cornerstone of downtown, a mixed-use entertainment district crowned at its center by the beautifully restored Denton County Courthouse. The Denton County Courthouse, home to the Courthouse-on-the-Square Museum, is an architectural wonder making it one of the most photographed courthouses in Texas. Just two blocks south, the Historical Park of Denton County offers visitors a waltz back in time to the turn of the century at the Bayless-Selby House and the Quakertown House among other significant restored buildings. The fully restored Campus Theater fills the air with music, dancing, drama and laughter as the Denton Community Theater presents North Texas' finest and most-loved performers in live theater productions year-round.
