National Trends and What They Mean for Texas Students
Wednesday, May 1, 2019 (All day) to Thursday, May 2, 2019 (All day)

As a caring and creative community, student success is imperative at UNT. The University Forum on Teaching and Learning and Student Portraits Symposium have combined forces to provide two days of interactive sessions, presentations and more to support best practices in student success. The brand-new Joint Conference on the Student Experience will run May 1-2, 2019 in the Gateway Ballroom.

The theme for the 2019 event is National Trends and What They Mean for Texas Students. This theme will allow us to explore practices that improve student success and retention through effective teaching and learning and student support services.

The first day will feature UNT scholars sharing their research, insights, and experiences on the student learning experience. The second day will feature keynote speaker, Josh Eyler, Rice University’s Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence. Dr. Eyler will lead a workshop based on his new book, How Humans Learn: The Science and Stories Behind Effective College Teaching.
