The Function Field training is the 2nd of 6 courses that make up the Budget Training Bundle. The course is offered by the UNT System of Financial Planning & Analysis. Users will learn the importance of using the correct Functions and be able to verify that their chartstrings are appropriate and in line with reporting requirements. This training will provide guidance on when to use or not use certain functions. 

At the end of this training, users will be able to:

1. Recognize the 12 NACUBO expense Classifications (i.e. categories of Functions) and gain a general understanding of each,
2. Understand and explain UNT's method for assigning overall Functions at the department level, while allowing for exceptions at the transaction level,
3. Understand the Function(s) specific to the user’s department, and
4. Open and read UNT System's Function Mapping for UNT tool.
