The Cognos Project Reports training is an optional training for those users who manage projects. In this hands on training, users will learn how to read their reports, view balances, and find transactions. A grants representative will be present to assist with grant related questions.

At the end of this training, users will be able to:

1. Run the Project Budget Summary Report, the Project Transaction Detail Report, and the Budget Overview Report with and without filters,
2. Identify the  four types of PC Business Units and which PC Business Units are Sponsored/Non Sponsored,
3. Recognize the difference in report results depending on whether a sponsored project or non sponsored project is being searched,
4. Read the reports including being able to identify the order in which chartstring summaries are presented, identify deficits that need to be covered, and understand the differences between actuals, encumbrances, and pre-encumbrances,
5. Use the drill-through features to view transaction detail, and
6. Be able to run the detail report to excel and use excel filters to perform research.
