Mayborn Magazine is the annual literary magazine of the Mayborn Graduate Institute that blends the work of professional writers and Mayborn students.

Ten Spurs
Winners in our reported narrative and personal essay contests also have their work published in the Mayborn's journal, Ten Spurs.

Best American Newspaper Narratives (BANN)
Winners in our longform narrative contest for previously published newspaper works are included in our anthology, Best American Newspaper Narratives.

Young Spurs
Students who enter their work to the Young Spurs contest have a chance to win complimentary registration and accommodations to the Mayborn Literary Nonfiction Conference in Grapevine, Texas. A complimentary registration and accommodations also will be awarded to each student's teacher/mentor. A small travel stipend may be available. Young Spurs will also attend a half-day workshop with award-winning author Skip Hollandsworth when they critique their winning entries. They will spend the rest of the weekend attending lectures and panel discussions centered around our central conference theme.
