12/20/2016 - Texas, United States
I am adding the hourly US_lower 48 generation data and comparing it with the EIA-923 monthly generation and I find differences as big as 5 aGW. Have you done the same exercise? Do you also get the same differences? Thanks
10/14/2016 - Illinois, United States
This would be even more useful is we could see the breakdown by fuel type if possible. Thanks!
09/30/2016 - Washington, United States
Midwest electricity supply and demand balance for 9/29 and 9/28 seems to have an error - interchange MWhs jump up by 2 orders of magnitude just for those two days. I can't find the evidence supporting this background.
09/08/2016 - Illinois, United States
Could you include peak demand in the information presented?
09/08/2016 - Oregon, United States
I am curious about some anomalous values for aggregated regional demand and generation. For instance, for the Florida region, at 9/3/2016 18:00 EDT, the Demand value is 54538MW, which is an increase of 17GW from the previous hour, and not equal to the sum of the BA's. I believe this has something to do with the fact that FPL did not report demand for this hour, however I am wondering why the number is too large, rather than simply missing the FPL value, and wanted to make sure you were aware of the error.
09/06/2016 - Oregon, United States
Regarding the Balancing authority forecast error chart for BA BPAT, the current hour always shows a high percentage error that corrects itself in following hours. For example, here is some downloaded data: 09/6/2016 12H EDT 45.92 09/6/2016 11H EDT 3.54 09/6/2016 10H EDT 3.39
09/01/2016 - Colorado, United States
The units on the demand-supply balance graph for peak demand are listed as megawatthours. Shouldn't they be listed as megawatts?
09/01/2016 - New York, United States
Will EIA provide a breakdown of this data into generation sources (i.e. natural gas, coal, nuclear, solar PV, wind, other)?
09/01/2016 - New York, United States
We have been trying to compile NYISO data for statewide and "zone" specific illustrations in order to better inform elected officials on this technical market. This looks promising because we are also interested in interconnections to and flows between other markets. Will this site have more granular data (zone specific) for each node (specifically NYISO)?
08/24/2016 - New York, United States
Is this data available via a REST API? This would be an extremely useful addition if you do not have this already.
08/08/2016 - Germany
I very much appreciate that you have started visualizing your energy data to allow a more fact-based discussion in the US on the topic of energy. Best regards, Markus
08/07/2016 - China
I am a student, the search data is great to use in research papers.
08/04/2016 - District of Columbia, United States
Is this residential or commercial & industrial (C&I) electricity?
08/04/2016 - Ohio, United States
Good Morning! Thank you! An incredible site! Giving me an appreciation of electric generation, particularly here in Ohio with First Energy, and AEP.
08/01/2016 - Washington, United States
Does this operating data show power (load) demand or transmission peak demands by BA?
07/29/2016 - District of Columbia, United States
Can you get this by zip code or MSA?
07/28/2016 - Texas, United States
This is a great tool! So pleased to see you built this.
07/28/2016 - Washington, United States
What are the forecast demands displayed in the Detailed Data. What are the sources for those forecast demands?
07/28/2016 - Oregon, United States
This is incredibly cool! Add me to the list of people who would love to see energy generation broken out by source in real-time (or something close to it).
07/26/2016 - Pennsylvania, United States
I really enjoy this feature! Thanks, EIA! I enjoy a general interest in energy, and love this new feature showing actual Electricity usage. I hope you keep this available to the public. Nice feature!
07/26/2016 - Kentucky, United States
Are the BA forecasts coming from the BA or another entity?
07/25/2016 - California, United States
Really like the addition of hourly data. I would love to see an option for bulk data download - at least a month and ideally at least a year - of the hourly data. Keep up the great work!
07/25/2016 - New York, United States
This is so cool. Can you get even more granular on the status map (probably a big ask)? Either way, this is awesome. You should consider adding nat gas info on top.
07/25/2016 - New York, United States
An excellent picture of our grid - great resource. However, use of the word 'demand' for accumulated energy consumption (megawatt hours)as well as total instantaneous, or peak, power production (megawatts)is confusing. I'd suggest you reserve the use of the word 'demand' for describing the generation capacity at any particular time.
07/25/2016 - Maryland, United States
Is there a similar tool or tools that track the production of carbon dioxide? If so, please point me to it/them. If not, please consider developing such a tool. In the effort to confront the causes of climate change the kind of energy we use is more important than the amount. Thanks, Ben.
07/19/2016 - Florida, United States
This is great. Thanks for the improvements. I would think that some areas (like PJM) are likely better broken down as PJM-East and PJM-West.
07/09/2016 - New York, United States
Great job with this. How are time zones accounted for in the time stamps of the exported data?
06/06/2016 - New Jersey, United States
how can i download historical data for year 2014? The current system allows for only 1 yr historical data.
03/29/2016 - Colorado, United States
This is a very nice visualization and is very helpful in explaining energy use across the US. Another layer that would be great would be to show the production sources of electricity by BA. How much is coal, gas, nuclear, hydro, and other RE.
02/26/2016 - Canada
The visualizations are excellent. Please consider an optional layer that shows the tie-line ratings. You'd scroll over the line on the map and a databox would pop up with the line rating (Total Transmission Capacity, Thermal Rating). A download management page would also be nice - i.e. a page where you could specify which BAs you want what data for and the time-frame you were interested in. You probably have this... I can't find the path to it is all. Maybe make it more prominent.
10/21/2015 - Texas, United States
Glad to see you have very talented people working for EIA. Are you going to publish fuel mix for every region as well?
10/05/2015 - Washington, United States
Avista has sampled data via the “Download Data” option and compared it to the data submitted to the EIA in our Daily file. Based on my assessment, the data available for download is the same data that Avista has submitted. The web page is easy to use and the Walkthrough is helpful in explaining the two hour time lag for demand data. The user options are reasonably intuitive. I found the “Download Data” option useful for comparing Avista’s data presented on the beta web page to our submitted Daily file.
09/29/2015 - District of Columbia, United States
How do you download data from more than 5 days ago? Everything here seems to be limited to the last five days.
09/17/2015 - Ohio, United States
Its a start. Show forecast error at each bus. Show transmission flows between buses(capacity, constraint level and direction of flow. Show wind and PV gen at each bus. Publish a definitive, exhaustive list of generators within each NEMS region and each RTO (in 860)
