Saturday  Classes 

Saturday classes are held in the Fall and Winter.

Creative Drama (ages 5-7) – 10am – 11:30am – Tuition $180*  

Saturday Classes: January 12 – February 23 – Black Box Theatre (318 E. Hickory)

Showcase: March 2 – 1pm – Campus Theatre (214 W. Hickory)
Showcase Morning Rehearsal – Campus Theatre – Creative Drama – 9:30am

Creative Drama is an integrative process that develops imaginative thought and creative expression in children. Through the use of movement, pantomime, improvisation, story dramatization, and group discussion, children acquire language and communication skills, social awareness, problem-solving skills, self-concept enhancement, and an understanding of theatre. Rather than an attempt to train child actors, the goal of Creative Drama is to guide the child to self-fulfillment through the use of theatre techniques. Reading ability is not required. Enrollment limited to 12 students.

Acting 1 (ages 8-11) – 12:00pm – 1:30pm – Tuition $180*

Showcase: March 2 – 1:00pm – Campus Theatre (214 W. Hickory)
Showcase Morning Rehearsal – Campus- Acting 1 – 10:30am

Acting 1 is an introduction to the basics of theatre: acting; auditioning; body and voice; imagination; character history and characterization; improvisations; performing; and related skills. Individual/small group coaching will be included during class time as assessed by the instructor. Enrollment limited to 16 students.

Acting 2 (ages 12-17)* – 2:00pm – 3:30pm – Tuition $180*

Saturday Classes: January 12 – February 23 – Black Box Theatre (318 E. Hickory)

Showcase: March 2 – 1pm – Campus Theatre (214 W. Hickory)
Showcase Morning Rehearsal – Campus- Acting 2  – 11:30am.

Acting 2 is a flexible acting class for teenagers and advanced students. Its structure is flexible depending on the abilities and experiences of the students. Study will focus on basic stage direction; audition techniques and the development of an acting resume; scene study; monologues; characterization; improvisation; and performance. Individual/small group coaching will be included during class time as assessed by the instructor. Enrollment limited to 16 students. *(younger students with acting experience may be admitted with permission of the instructor)
