Academic Advising

Undergraduate:

Professional academic advisors are available to meet with CVAD students regarding course selection, degree progress, degree plans and other administrative questions. Faculty advisors are available to assist students with field-related information, such as careers and course substitutions. To inquire about course substitutions, contact the program coordinator for your major. See program coordinator contact information here. To schedule an advising appointment, visit appointments.unt.edu and select an advisor based on your last name. CVAD also has walk-in appointments for brief 10-15 minute sessions available. Please call the Advising Office at 940-565-2216 for more information.

Prospective Student Advising Sessions:

If you are thinking about coming to UNT for Art as a freshman or transfer student, you are encouraged to begin the admissions process here (link).

The College of Visual Arts and Design (CVAD) welcomes prospective students to meet with an academic advisor to discuss degree program options and transfer coursework that could be applicable towards an art major. There is no need to bring a portfolio of your artwork; however, if you have completed any college-level transfer coursework, an unofficial copy of your transcript would be helpful during your advising session. We do not need high school transcripts. If you have any questions or need accommodations, contact the CVAD Student Services offices at 940-565-2216 or artadviseasst@unt.edu

If interested UNT tour only, sign up at tours.unt.edu.
