activities designed to assist students participating in SSS in applying for admission to, and obtaining financial assistance for enrollment in, graduate and other professional programs

Cultural Enrichment Opportunities
events including the symphony, Broadway plays, Art museums, ballet performances, etc.

  • Campus Engagement/Connections — collaborations with other TRIO programs, Learning Center, Emerald Eagles, ODA, Alumni, Career Services, Study Abroad, etc.
  • Book Club — it is a club that meets weekly to examine participant selected books through unique and engaging ways throughout the academic year.
  • Peer Mentoring “LEAD Mentoring” — Weekly group sessions (50 mins) lead by peer mentors to discuss topics supporting the success of program participants. Topics may include: scholarship writing, Financial Reality Check, motivation, stress relief, on-campus engagement, study skills, student loan management and much more.
  • SSS Office Suite — SSS Computer Lab, Study Rooms, & Lounge.
