About the Graduate College
The Graduate College is responsible for promoting quality graduate education at Florida Atlantic University. It serves as the central point of contact for recruiting prospective students, marketing graduate programs, and coordinating the admissions process for both international and domestic graduate students. The college supports currently enrolled students throughout their time at the university. These activities include, but are not limited to: conducting teaching assistantship training, hosting new student orientation, facilitating graduate student workshops for professional development, awarding fellowships, ensuring compliance with the university's thesis and dissertation guidelines, certifying all degree requirements are met for graduation, and awarding graduate degrees.
The Graduate College also provides administrative support to the university community. Working in conjunction with the University Graduate Council, Faculty Senate, and the individual college deans, the Graduate College works to develop university-wide graduate plans and policies to ensure that academic standards are maintained. Additionally, all new graduate course proposals and course changes, as well as any academic policy changes are organized by the Graduate College for submission to the Graduate Programs Committee. The college coordinates the graduate faculty appointments and maintains a central database of its membership.
