We just want to take the time to wish Scrappy a very Happy Birthday! Although we celebrated with his party yesterday, today is his actual birthday. He’s in El Paso for the Mean Green Football game, so everyone show Scrappy some love!
For you history buffs, today marks the day in October of 1950 when The Varsity shop’s manager, Tommy Laney, purchased a “golden eagle” from an animal supply agency in Dallas. A contest was held to pick a name, and “Scrappy” won.
