UNT Core Curriculum

Teaching Portfolio

Are you looking for ways to improve your teaching?  Do you have limited time to reflect on your teaching philosophy, methods, and assessments?  Would you like to work with an experienced faculty member to improve your student learning outcomes?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, you should consider creating a teaching portfolio.  Join us on January 9th (8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.) for the 2018-19 Teaching Portfolio Workshop kickoff.

18-19 Salute to Faculty Excellence External Award Submissions

Have you recently won an award in your discipline, professional organization, or other academic group?  UNT wants to recognize local, regional, national, and international awards given to faculty in the calendar year 2018.  Please submit your awards at https://vpaa.unt.edu/fs/recognition/external-awards-2018.

Study Abroad Expo

UNT International will host a faculty workshop on Designing a New Faculty Led Program, Wednesday, October 10 from 3:30 – 4:30 in Marquis 107.  They are also holding an expo October 17 from 9:00 – 1:00 in Marquis Hall to learn about study abroad opportunities around the world. UNT Exchange programs, UNT Faculty-Led program leaders and representatives from Affiliate programs will be available to share opportunities and answer any questions - click here.

Tailgating with the Provost

On the weekend of October 22-27, 2018 we will be celebrating homecoming, ending with a football game on Saturday October 27, at 3 p.m. against Rice. Come out and join us with your Mean Green spirit to cheer on the football team!

Mediation

With the retirement of UNT’s Ombuds, Belinda Newman, the university is training 10 faculty and 10 staff to serve a campus mediators.  These mediators will go through a rigorous 40 hour training to become certified mediators.  The training will be completed in October and there are plans to roll out the website by January.  In the meantime, there are many others UNT resources available to assist faculty and staff.  For more information: Click here.
