Division 2017-18 annual report is online now

As the service arm of the University of North Texas, the Division of Finance and Administration has the important role of promoting a safe, secure and supportive campus -- one that provides an effective work and learning environment for faculty, staff and students.

The division accomplishes this each day thanks to the hundreds of staff members in our division.

The 2017-18 annual report is now available and highlights many of these accomplishments from the last year. Please find the PDF version here. Hard copies will also be available in our office at Hurley 213.

UNT Facilities works on new campus entryway

An artist rendering of the updated entryway shows improved signage and landscaping. The work is expected to be done in late fall 2018 or early spring 2019.

UNT is reinforcing its commitment to a beautified, walkable campus and installing a new entryway on the north side at Avenue C and Hickory Street. When complete, there will be two monuments at the Avenue C entry, and updated landscaping, sidewalks and irrigation.

The project was timed to occur while the city is working on Hickory Street from Avenue C to Avenue B so that there would be no extra delay to pedestrians and vehicle traffic. The city’s project includes replacement of damaged concrete, removing old asphalt from Hickory Street and installing new asphalt. The city project is expected to last until Jan. 2, weather permitting.

The new UNT entryway is on a similar timeline. During this time, there will be gas powered machines and trucks in use. There may be some noise during concrete removal. The area will be closed off with construction fencing. The project cost is $85,106.

Twelve division staff members graduate from SBB program

The Supervisory Building Blocks program at UNT teaches management functions and transactional knowledge to new leaders and those who want a refresher in a variety of professional skills. It requires a minimum of 30 hours of courses and is offered across the UNT System. On July 30, 2018, twelve Division of Finance and Administration staff members graduated from the latest SBB class. There have been 330 graduates since the program started in fall 2015. The latest division graduates included: David Barkenhagen, Bruce Anthony, Paul Flaa, Lydia Fleming, Gregory Forte, John Fryar, Brenda Martinez, Mark Mills, Oxsormira Neira Gonzalez, Cynthia Oliver, Justin Stewart and Luke Taylor.
