HOURS

When the College of Law is in session, the building is open:

Monday – Thursday: 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Friday: 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday: 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Sunday: 12:30 to 5:30 p.m.

When the College of Law is not in session, the building is open:

Monday – Friday: 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

These hours may vary depending upon requirements from the UNT System Chancellor’s Office or Universities Center at Dallas. Changes will be posted on the College of Law’s website or in emails as necessary.

FACILITIES

The College of Law is housed in the UNT System Building at 1901 Main Street, Dallas, Texas 75201. The College of Law occupies space on the first, second, third, fifth, and sixth floors. The College of Law also shares classrooms on the third and fourth floors.

ACCESS POLICY

As a state institution, the UNT System Building is open to the members of the public who have business with the UNT System, UNT Dallas College of Law, or another tenant of the building. Visitors should check in with the Security Desk in the lobby on the first floor upon entering the building, where they will receive directions to the office or person they are seeking.

Visitors to UNT Dallas College of Law should check in with the Security Desk in the lobby on the first floor upon entering the building. Visitors will be provided directions or an escort and a visitor’s name badge as appropriate. Visitors may also be asked for proof of identity.

The College of Law’s Law Library is primarily for the use of College of Law students, faculty, and staff. Students, faculty, and staff from other UNT System institutions and members of the Bar are allowed access to the Law Library. To receive access to the Law Library, visitors must provide proof of identity, as well as proof of connection to the UNT System or Bar, at the Security Desk on the first floor upon entering the building. Visitors will be provided directions or an escort and a visitor’s name badge as appropriate.

IDENTITY CARDS

All students should have in their possession a UNT Dallas College of Law student identity card, which will be required for access to certain rooms, including the students’ locker room area and the library on Saturdays. Building security may ask for production of your identity card for admission to the building.

SAFETY WARNINGS

All students, employees, and visitors will follow directions as provided during any emergency, such as fire or severe weather. Alerts may be issued via the building’s public announcement system, emails, text messages, and voice mail.  Alternatively, if an alert occurs and no instructions are given, check posted instructions in all classrooms and office suites.

NO TOBACCO POLICY

No tobacco products may be consumed inside the UNT System Building, and usage of e-cigarettes is not allowed in the building.

USE OF ROOMS

When not in use for classes or college events, rooms may be reserved for group study or student meetings by completing and submitting the appropriate form.

Group study rooms in the library may be reserved by two or more students at the library’s service desk or here.

For law and law-related community groups outside the College of Law who wish to use our space, please view the information on how to reserve meeting and event space at the College of Law.

FOOD AND DRINK

In common areas of the building:

  • Student may eat and drink in commons areas of the building. Please be respectful of those around you and dispose of your trash.

In classrooms:

  • During class sessions, students may drink from spill-proof containers, but may not consume food. However, a professor may vary from this policy by stating in the syllabus that students may eat during class.
  • Other than in class sessions, students may drink and eat in classrooms, as long as spill-proof containers are used and the food is not messy, odorous, or disruptive. Please be respectful of those around you and dispose of your trash.

In the library:

There are vending machines and microwave ovens located on the first floor of the building.

DELIVERIES TO COLLEGE OF LAW

Packages addressed to the College of Law should be delivered to the Office of Admissions on the first floor. The Security desk will not accept deliveries.

ACCESS TO LOADING DOCK

For deliveries requiring access to the loading dock, check-in with the Security Desk on the first floor.

LOST AND FOUND

Items found in the building are held by the Security Desk, 214.571.9719.
