Shades of Green is a resort owned by the United States Department of Defense in the city of Lake Buena Vista, Florida, near Orlando on Walt Disney World property. It is one of four Armed Forces Recreation Centers (AFRC) resorts and a part of the military's Morale, Welfare, and Recreation program (MWR). The resort, which was expanded between 2004-2006, is self-supporting and operates from non-appropriated funds and all profits are put back into the resort.Resort detailsShades of Green is located near the Magic Kingdom, just southwest of the Polynesian Village Resort. The resort is not, however, on the monorail loop that services the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Transportation around Walt Disney World is provided exclusively by a separate fleet of buses which shuttle guests to and from the Transportation and Ticket Center, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Downtown Disney and the water parks.Shades of Green does not have a pervasive theme like other Disney resorts, and the general decor is that of a modern country club. Exposed roof beams and arches of hewn stone give the resort an American Craftsman feel. The main staircase encircles a two story rock formation with waterfalls flowing through it. The resort is located in a wooded setting complete with waterfalls and tropical gardens. The resort has 586 guest rooms, most of which are standard guest rooms with over of floor space.
Artegon Marketplace, formerly known as Festival Bay Mall, is an enclosed shopping mall located on International Drive in Orlando, Florida, United States. Opened in 2002 as a property of the Belz Factory Outlets, it is owned by FB Orlando Acquisition Company, LLC and managed by Paragon Outlet Partners LLC. The mall is in size with Bass Pro Shops, Vans Skatepark, Ron Jon Surf Shop, and Shepler's Western Wear as anchor stores. It also comprises several entertainment venues, including a Cinemark movie theater, a indoor playground for kids, and a glow-in-the-dark miniature golf course.HistoryThe mall was planned and developed by Belz Enterprises. It was originally planned to open in 2000, but the opening was delayed until 2002. Initial plans called for the mall to be in size, but it was scaled back to.In 2004, plans were announced for a surfing park, named Ron Jon Surfpark, to be built inside the mall. This project was never opened.In 2011, after acquiring new owners, plans were announced for the mall to be redeveloped. Aside from the main anchors, most of the mall would receive extensive alterations. The signature lake and tile mosaic signs are not expected to survive the redevelopment.
