We attended a very informative movie/seminar about Antartica and climate change affecting our world. The scientist and movie maker were present to answer questions after viewing the movie. Antartica i...s not a place most people have visited or think about much I would venture to guess. What a great event. We came away with a huge understanding of how our scientists study the area and how the information is used to help our world -all done in an exciting, fast moving and fun movie event. Interesting and informatice Discovery Lab on 1/16/18. Lots of hands-on learning stations for all ages. Loved the presentation on drone use by VIMS!

The researchers at VIMS do an amazing amount of work to better understand our coastal habitats and resources...as well as restore and protect them.

Great research facilities. Everything is very clean and organized. People who worked their were great and very helpful. It's location in the Chesapeake Bay is ideal. The housing facilities weren't bad either.

What a wonderful learning experience we had at VIMS today as I visited on a field trip with my son! I highly recommend that anyone who hasn't been there go check it out!

We love VIMS!!! We have been to many of the Discovery Labs and our daughter just finished Sea Squirts camp- she had such a great time. We feel so fortunate to live close to such a great institution.

VIMS was honored to welcome faculty and students from Ishinomaki Senshu University in #Japan for a behind-the-scenes tour of our campus earlier this month. This visit was made possible through an exchange program between ISU and Randolph-Macon College in #Virginia.

Led by Dr. Hiroshi Sasaki, Faculty of Science and Technology at ISU, the group visited the Zooplankton Ecology lab, the Multispecies Research Group - Virginia Institute of Marine Science, and the Coastal Systems Ecology and Modeling Program.
