Summer Undergraduate Student Internship Program

Illinois-Indiana

The IISG Summer Internship Program is open to undergraduates enrolled in an institution of higher education. Interns will work closely with IISG specialists on issues affecting Lake Michigan. Internships can include outreach, education and research components.

Maryland Sea Grant Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates Maryland Maryland Sea Grant offers undergraduates the opportunity to conduct marine research on the Chesapeake Bay during the summer. During this 12‐week program, each student will work with a science mentor on an individual research project at one of two marine labs located on Chesapeake Bay: the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science’s (UMCES) Chesapeake Biological Laboratory in Solomons, MD or Horn Point Laboratory in Cambridge, MD.

Minnesota Sea Grant Internships

Minnesota

Minnesota Sea Grant offers internships to graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in Minnesota colleges and universities. Interns apply their knowledge and skills acquired through coursework to help Minnesota Sea Grant fulfill its mission. Interns can work in the areas of outreach, communication, education or research.

Oregon Sea Grant Summer Scholars Oregon Oregon Sea Grant funds an annual Undergraduate Summer Scholars program to prepare students for graduate school and careers in marine science, policy, management and outreach. This 10-week program places high caliber junior and senior undergraduate students from around the country with public agencies (federal, state, and local) to provide students with hands-on experience under the mentorship of a career professional.

Pennsylvania Sea Grant Internships

Pennsylvania

Undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled at an institution of higher learning can apply for Pennsylvania Sea Grant internships, contingent upon available funding.

Writing and Reporting Undergraduate Internship

Rhode Island

This paid internship offers University of Rhode Island undergraduate students the opportunity to develop their research, writing, and interviewing skills as they write stories to be published on Rhode Island Sea Grant's website, in the biannual magazine, 41°N, or through other Sea Grant media outlets.

Texas A&M University Undergraduate Research: Sea Grant Scholars Program Texas Texas Sea Grant Scholars engage in a two-semester (fall/spring) research project, conducted under the supervision of a Texas A&M faculty mentor, that culminates in a public presentation and written thesis. Undergraduate students enrolled in any discipline at Texas A&M University are invited to submit proposals on marine-related issues.  Scholars will be eligible for an additional $1,000 supplement to their research budget for projects related to the marine environment.
