NC STATE PROFESSOR RECOGNIZED AS 2016-17 HOLSHOUSER AWARD WINNER

Steve McKeand, professor of forestry and environmental resources at North Carolina State University, has devoted his long academic career to making the state greener – in both an ecological and economic sense. His long record of service inside and outside of the classroom has earned McKeand the James E. Holshouser Jr. Award for Excellence in Public Service from the University of North Carolina Board of Governors.

UNC President Margaret Spellings has offered the following statement on the death today of North Carolina Central University Chancellor Debra Saunders-White

“The UNC system lost a great leader today. With the death of Deb Saunders-White, we also lost a valued colleague and friend. Deb loved NCCU with all her being and treated each of its students as her very own. She called them her light and her inspiration as she waged her battle with cancer.”
