Mean Green To Compete At Incarnate Word Invitational
38 Student-Athletes Set To Participate In San Antonio
DENTON – The North Texas track and field teams will take part in the eighth annual Cardinal Invitational on April 13-14 at the Gayle and Tom Benson Track Stadium on the campus of Incarnate Word.
North Texas will be competing with Abilene Christian, UIW, Sam Houston State, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, UTRGV, Rice, North Texas, SMU, Texas A&M Kingsville, Texas Lutheran, Trinity, Sul Ross, Concordia, Texas Wesleyan, OLLU, St. Edward's, and Southwestern.
The men’s team will be sending 15 student-athletes to compete in Daniel Becherer (pole vault), Shane Bracken (800m, 1500m), Abdon Campbell (100m, 200m), Alex Cleveland (800m, 1500m), Howard Grant (long jump), Dayton Johnson (100m, 200m), Tim Jones (1500m), Kevone Kennedy (discus), Jacob Kevetter (400 hurdles, 200m), Zach Kirkland (1500m), Matthew Morgan (800m, 1500m), Joseph Squire (400 hurdles, 200m), Karl Sralla (discus), Jourden Taylor (high jump) and Jacob VanPatten (pole vault).
The women’s team has 23 student-athletes participate in numerous events. In the 800 meter run, Olivia Zint, Victoria Junious, Darrian Johnson and Monica Carroll are set to compete. The throwers group will have freshmen Jaleisa Shaffer, Ashlynn Smart and Haley Walker. Valencia Bullock, Denver Mims
