DENTON – The North Texas men’s and women’s cross country teams head to College Station to participate in the Texas A&M Invitational starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23.

The meet will feature 18 collegiate teams at the Dale Watts course that will begin with the 8k men’s competition at 8 a.m., followed by the 5k women’s race at 8:45 a.m.

“After a nice home meet we are looking to carry our momentum into Texas A&M this weekend,” cross country coach Kevin Williams said. “It is the same location as the regional meet in November and most of the region teams will be there. It is a good opportunity to see how we stack up against some new competition and will let us know what we need to improve upon between now and the championship potion of the schedule.”

The Mean Green will be competing with Central Arkansas, Houston, Lamar, LSU, Louisiana-Lafayette, McNeese State, Prairie View A&M, Rice, Sam Houston State, Southeastern Louisiana, Southeastern Oklahoma (w), Texas A&M-Kingsville, Texas State, TCU, Texas Wesleyan (m) and UT-Arlington.

North Texas will be bringing seven runners on the men’s side in senior Mike Lowe, freshman Jack Beaumont, senior Rick Nally, sophomore Alex Cleveland, freshman Matthew Morgan, sophomore Hayden Murphy, and sophomore Tim Jones.

The women’s team will be sending junior Susannah Lynch, senior Christina Moralez, sophomore Baylee Nelson, senior Victoria Junious, sophomore Cassidy Adams, freshman Eva Mora, sophomore Jennifer White, freshman Olivia Zint, and sophomore Tori Valka.

Both teams are coming off second place finishes at the Ken Garland Invitational last weekend after Lowe and Lynch capture individual titles at Discovery Park.
