COLLEGE STATION – Junior Susannah Lynch earned another cross country title and broke the school record in the 6k Saturday morning at the Texas A&M Invitational.

Lynch defeated 140 runners in the 6k race by 13 seconds and has won two-straight meets after a victory at the Ken Garland Invitational last weekend. Lynch shattered the school record by 19 seconds with previous holder Charlotte Wilson’s time of 20:42.4 in 2014.

“It was a really smart race ran by Susannah today,” cross country coach Kevin Williams said. “I told her to be patience until the end because of how humid it was and she beat out some really great runners. On the men’s side Mike and Jack ran really well to finish top-25 in a deep field.”

The men’s team was led by senior Mike Lowe and freshman Jack Beaumont who both finish inside the top-25. Lowe had another solid race coming in 14th place and only one-second off his personal best time in an 8K meet. Beaumont was 23rd with a time of 24:45.8 to continue his stellar freshman campaign. Senior Rick Nally came in 52nd at 25:20.6 and sophomore Alex Cleveland was 64th with a time of 25:37.7. Sophomore Hayden Murphy was the fifth scorer with a 71st finish at 25:55.8.
