Sometimes the organizations that currently exist do not fit a student's needs. If you think UNT Dallas is missing a student organization or do not see what you are looking for, you are more than welcome to start a new student organization. After you complete these steps, your elected student organization president will receive a confirmation email from the Office of Student Affairs.

FOLLOW THESE STEPS

1.    Find Three Members and an Advisor. Find at least two other students, plus yourself, to be part of your organization and an advisor, who MUST be a full-time faculty or staff member employed at UNT Dallas.

2.    Create Organization Documents. Create a constitution, bylaws, risk management policy, and membership roster (templates are available online). You are more than welcome to schedule an appointment with the Coordinator of Activities & Organizations to ask any questions about the documents.

3.    Register Online. Submit all updated documents and other requested information to the registration form: bit.ly/UNTDNewOrg

4.    Attend Follow-Up Meeting. Once all your materials have been received, you will be receive an email to schedule an appointment with the Coordinator of Activities & Organizations for a follow-up meeting. If there are any additional questions or concerns, this is where any follow-up questions will be asked. If you meet the basic requirements, you will receive an additional packet of information.

5.    Complete Risk Management Training. You can complete the state-mandated training through the Student Organizations Blackboard portal or in-person through Student Organization Orientation. In the online registration form, it will ask for your EUID. That information is used to add you to the course, (i.e. abc0123).
