Using the form below, you may register your organization for the upcoming UNT Dallas Greek Yard Show on Thursday, April 12th at 6PM. This form is due at the latest by April 10th at 11:59PM.

Performance Type. These are defined as the following, but you are NOT limited to just one performance type. You may use a combination of these for your performance:

  • Step: A series of complex, synchronous and precise rhythmic body movements performed to the tune of stomps, songs, or chants created by organization members
  • Stroll: The traditional dance or “party walk” performed by culturally-based fraternities and/or sororities
  • Salute: An art form of synchronized movements and words or songs with deep roots in Latino culture to express pride, respect, honor, and love

Time Limit. Performances are limited to a maximum of ten (10) minutes.

Performance. Must include an introduction that each organization will provide in this form. Your performance should include an entrance and an exit.

Awards. There will be two (2) ways to win: Best-in-Show & Audience Favorite.

Score Sheets. Judges will use score sheets to score each performance based on these categories: Dress/Appearance, Enthusiasm/Energy, Creativity, Precision/Transition, Complexity/Difficulty, and Synchronization.

Who will be the main contact in regards to your performance?

Sportsmanship. If a team member is grossly un-sportsmanlike, causing a disruption to the show, the team will be disqualified. This will be up to the discretion of the judges. *
Vulgarity. If a performance is degrading or vulgar, it will result in a deduction of 5 points from your overall score. This will be up to the discretion of the judges. *
Props. Props and all special requirements must be submitted for approval by April 10, 2018. Please send a brief description and picture to Rifeta “Fifi” Badic Rifeta.Badic@untdallas.edu. No pyrotechnics may be used in your show. The use of fire, helium, balloons, confetti, liquid devices such as water, candle wax, weapons or glitter are not permitted. All props and backdrops must be taken with the organization at the conclusion of the show. *
Music. A copy of your music must be uploaded to this form OR emailed to Rifeta.Badic@untdallas.edu. In addition, two CD copies of your music must be provided the day of the show. Failure to submit materials will also result in a 10 point deduction from your overall score. Please ensure you are using edited and censored versions of your music. *
Time. Start time begins when music/media starts and the performance time ends at the conclusion of the performance. Each team will have a total of 10 minutes maximum to perform, including introductions and exits. A total of 5 points will be deducted per minute from the final score of each team that exceeds the 10-minute allotment. *
Technical Difficulties. In the case of technical difficulties, judges will be notified and the teams will not be penalized. *
Performers. Members of your chapter, other than those specified to perform or specifically assist with the performance, may not be backstage or on stage any time during the show. *
Judging & Score Sheets. Judges will use score sheets to score each performance based on these categories: Dress/Appearance, Enthusiasm/Energy, Creativity, Precision/Transition, Complexity/Difficulty, and Synchronization. The decision of the judges is final. *
