Prospective Student-Athlete Information - Men's Golf

We are excited about your interest in the University of North Texas and Mean Green men's golf. Under head coach Brad Stracke, the program is having a rebirth to national prominence. After capturing the first Conference USA title in school history in 2015 and winning the third league crown in four years, Stracke was named the C-USA Coach of the Year.

The 2017 season saw the Mean Green advance to the NCAA Tournament for the 36th time in school history and the sixth time in the last seven years under Coach Stracke. Cory Churchman, Ian Snyman and Thomas Rosenmueller competed individually at the NCAA Regionals.

The Men's Golf Coaching Staff
Please note that, per NCAA rules, coaches can only respond via e-mail to juniors (after September 1) and seniors in high school. Coaches must mail responses to freshmen and sophomores, per NCAA rules. You can call any North Texas coach, but they cannot return your phone call unless you are a senior in high school.

Facilities
The Mean Green golf teams worked out at a new indoor practice facility in 2006. Located on Bonnie Brae Avenue across from the athletic center, the Mean Green Softball and Golf Facility houses indoor putting and driving areas. This facility allows athletes from the softball and golf programs to hone their skills in the comfort of a climate controlled indoor practice range. For golf, the facility houses two net enclosed driving ranges and a putting green with full length wall mounted mirrors to help coaches and athletes monitor swinging motion.

The North Texas golf teams practice on some of the finest golf courses in the area, including Oakmont Country Club, Tour 18, Lantana Golf Course, Robson Ranch, Trophy Club, Golf Club at Champions Circle and Bridlewood Country Club.

Academic Athletic Services
In the Fall of 2005, the academic and compliance staff relocated to the Mean Green Village. Located on Bonnie Brae, the new Student-Athlete Development Center is three times the size of the former academic center. The Center serves as the cornerstone of the Mean Green Village and is only a short walk from the surrounding sports facilities.
