[ - ] Hi everyone, I’m a DH and I’ve noticed the ongoing dispute for and against jumpsuits. I was passing an H&M this afternoon and I went in to check one out - for the first time. I don’t get it: the denim was too heavy to be comfortable in the summer, and I’m tall & thin but a size M was baggy and made me look heavy. So I vote no, and I wouldn’t have even thought of it if not for the good people of UB. 6 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I've somehow gotten signed up for another 8 hour Saturday day of schlepping out to/around BK to watch my fiancé's 9 and 12 year old niece and nephews play baseball. I don't remember watching ET at all but I wanted to say it's really great when you can introduce your child to something you loved as a kid and they love it too. I've done this with DD (Sound of Music) and many books. Best part of being a parent. [ Reply | More ]

Ha - I remember my dad brought it home on VHS for my sister and I to watch (ages 5 and 3 at the time) and we thought it was the absolutely most terrifying thing in the entire world. Didn't touch it again until I was 11 or so, and then liked it a lot! [ Reply | More ]

You're kidding right? My kids are in high school and I have friends with kids who are all the way down to toddler age and there are more Christopher's and Williams than anything else it seems. And a ton of wills and Liam's as well you can't enter a classroom without running into two or three of each. George is the only one you don't hear all that much and I assumed since the prince had been born several years ago you will hear it more. These names never went away and they never will [ Reply | More ]

I have a strict policy of avoiding names that are explicitly Christian, even if I happen to like them as names. So no Christopher. Same goes for girls' names with meanings that obviously connote purity or religiosity, so no Virginia or Pia, etc. Philip means "lover of horses" which I find odd and anachronistic. I like William. I like them all but dislike all of the possible NNs (HATE Bill, Billy, and Phil, Chris is so common, Will is bearable but not my favorite). I would probably go with George because then I wouldn't have to spend my son's childhood making sure no one shortens his name. [ Reply | More ]

I'm not sure I agree about McMansions. They aren't my cup of tea, but good design or bad design isn't necessarily a sign of vulgarity. And if it were, there is no design worse than in some of the super costly fancy-pants old money apartments that go for zillions of dollars, with the wall-to-wall carpets, flowered chintz upholstery and ornate tri-level window treatments. Compared to that a brand new house with a circular driveway and vaulted great room isn't so bad. [ Reply | More ]
