Balancing the demands of work, family, and an education can be tough. That’s why the University of North Texas at Dallas offers a variety of flexible learning formats, including evening, hybrid, and online courses, designed to fit your busy schedule. Whatever your choice, you are offered the same quality coursework and outcomes.

Distance education or distance learning is a mode of delivering education and instruction to students who are not physically present in a traditional classroom setting. Distance learning provides access to learning when the source of information and the learners are separated by time and distance, or both through the use of an online learning environment. We invite you to watch a brief video about Distance Learning by clicking on the picture above. [2m 16s]

Online and hybrid courses utilize the Internet, making it convenient for you to complete assignments and interact with your instructors and classmates online, and from any location using a computer and Internet connection. There are courses on math, computers, statistics, writing, history, management, and much more.

UNT Dallas offers courses that are fully online, where all instruction and assignments are completed online using Blackboard Learn, a learning management system. Students complete assignments online from wherever and whenever they wish! Many people who take online courses also have full-time jobs, and find the convenience of online courses the best way to complete their degree.

Hybrid courses are another alternative that combine the flexibility of online courses with the opportunity to meet face-to-face with the instructor and classmates. Some of the work is completed online, and the remainder through scheduled meeting times that are published for each course. Some or all meeting times may be mandatory depending upon the course and instructor.

We currently offer 218 sections of 175 different online or hybrid courses (Spring 2017) and we are in the process of developing fully online programs and will work on existing courses. Below is a list of online programs at UNT Dallas that are 50% or more online:

The University of North Texas at Dallas subscribes to a national benchmark for online course design called Quality Matters.  The Quality Matters (QM) standards focus on course design, not course delivery. UNT Dallas has adapted these standards based on the needs of our students and the experience of our faculty.

Our instructors work diligently before the semester to plan their course.  This ensures that the courses are efficient, engaging, and effective.

Below you will find our current and upcoming hybrid and online courses.
