DLIT takes a leadership role at UNTD in facilitating innovation and providing resources to support faculty in the facilitation of student learning.
We provide consulting services for all types of instruction and all faculty at UNT Dallas. Upon request, DLIT team members are available to assist faculty members with improving their course. Our staff have considerable expertise in best practices for teaching in the online learning environment and in designing online courses that meet national quality standards. We can answer questions on a variety of technologies that support online and blended learning.
We can review the course using best practices and research-based standards and offer feedback. Whether you are teaching your course for the first time, building a new course, or converting your course from traditional learning to distributed learning—these are all excellent times to re-confirm the validity and relevance of your existing course objectives and modify them if necessary.
Bootcamps
DLIT offers workshops that provide training on skills needed to develop measurable student learning outcomes and outcome based assessments using the Quality Matters™ Rubric Workbook for Higher Education.
Quality Matters Rubric is a set of 8 general standards and 41 specific standards used to evaluate the design of online and blended courses. The Rubric is complete with annotations that explain the application of the standards and the relationship among them. DLIT provides Blackboard open labs every Wednesday from 2:30 PM - 5:00 PM in DAL1, Rm 336. Blackboard Bootcamp is offered twice a year. Contact our office to see scheduled training events.
The UNT Libraries offers online Faculty Teaching Resources which can be accessed at guides.library.unt.edu/gstep. These include direct links to articles and websites on a wide variety of topics including credibility, discussions, and small group work.
