BRYAN, Texas - The North Texas men's golf team sits in a tie for eighth place after the first day of the Aggie Invitational, played at the par-72 Traditions Golf Club, was suspended due to darkness.

"By far the most difficult conditions we have played in at The Traditions Golf Course," head coach Brad Stracke said. "Hopefully we will move up the leaderboard tomorrow." 

Vitek Novak has one hole remaining, Viktor Forslund has four holes left, Jordan Sanders and Thomas Rosenmueller have six holes left. Ian Snyman will have seven holes still to play in the second round.

In the first round, North Texas shot 306 (+18) to sit in seventh place among 14 teams, including eight ranked teams. In the second round, Snyman got off to a hot start by shooting a one-under 35 on his first nine holes but bogeyed the second hole to sit even par.

Tournament officials stopped play at around 8 p.m. with North Texas sitting in a tie for eighth place with No. 16 Arkansas at 32-over par. All scores from Round 2 are still unofficial and will be made official at the conclusion of Round 2 Sunday morning before the third and final round begins.

No. 65 Snyman leads the Mean Green at two-over par in a tie for ninth place after 29 holes. Sanders is eight-over par in a tie for 30th after 30 holes and Forslund is nine-over par good for a tie for 37th after 32 holes.
