Mean Green Set For Final Day At Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas (4/2/10) - Mean Green track and field wrapped up day two at the Texas Relays Friday evening from Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas.

North Texas had a good morning, besting most of its season best times and advancing a few to the finals tomorrow.

The Mean Green Started out the morning with the women's 4 x 100 meter relay of Missy Barnes, Brittani Simmons, Brittany Blaylock and DeOna Stafford running a time of 45.73 seconds and qualified for tomorrow's final.

Alysha Adams followed up the 4 x 100 relay with a fifth place finish in the preliminaries for the 100 hurdles with a time of 13.49 seconds, only y.02 seconds off of second place.

The 100 meter dash saw the top three sprinters for North Texas, Missy Barnes (11.71), Brittani Simmons (11.75) and Brittany Blaylock (11.76) improve their Sun Belt best times and finish 14th, 15th and 16th respectively.

The men's 4 x 400 meter relay team kept it going, qualifying in third place for tomorrow's finals behind Kansas and Northwestern State with a time of 3:11.38.

The Mean Green will be back in action tomorrow morning from the Mike A. Myers Stadium for the final day of the 83rd annual Clyde Littlefield Relays.
