Adams Grabs Track Athlete of the Week Honors

DENTON, Texas - North Texas track & field senior Alysha Adams was named the Sun Belt Conference track athlete of the week Wednesday morning.

Adams won the 60-meter hurdles Saturday at the J.D. Martin Invitational while finishing ninth in the 60-meter dash (7.21).

 She currently holds the top-time in the Sun Belt in the 60-hurdles with a time of 7.77 when converted to the 55-hurdles, which is what is run at the conference indoor meet. The mark gives her the 11th-best time in the NCAA.

Her 55-dash time puts her in eighth in the conference.

The men's track athlete of the week was UALR's Desmond Burns, while the field athlete's of the week were Arkansas State's Stephanie Foreman and Ethan Sandusky.

Adams and the Mean Green track & field team will be back in action Feb. 5, at the Texas Tech Invitational in Lubbock, Texas.
