FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (1/25/08) The University of North Texas track and field team will look to continue its early season success as they compete against some of the nation’s top track and field programs beginning today in Fayetteville, Ark., on the campus of the University of Arkansas.

A total of 43 universities and club teams will compete at the two-day Razorback Invitational taking place at the Randal Tyson Track Center on the campus of the University of Arkansas. The invite will consist of seven men’s and four women’s teams ranked in the top 25.

“This will be a big measurement of how we stack up against some of the best teams and talent that the country has to offer,” said North Texas head coach Rick Watkins. “I think the kids are excited and ready to compete against some top ranked schools.”

This is the second consecutive year that North Texas will head to Fayetteville to compete in an indoor meet. Last season, a few Mean Green runners traveled to the University of Arkansas for a last chance qualifying meet after the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships.

The heptathlon will kick off the invite today at noon. Friday’s field events will begin at 3 p.m. followed by the running events at 6:10 p.m. Click HERE for live results.
